Edit Sub-Page Y2 Mrs Walsh Class Page

Welcome back everyone and I hope you have all had a wonderful Summer break and are looking forward to an exciting time in Year 2. This year you are the top of the Foundation Phase and the younger children will be looking  to you to show them the expected rules and behaviour of the school and I know you wont let us down. Your teachers and helpers this year are Mrs Walsh, Miss Fitzgerald, Mrs Moss and Miss Palfrey and we are looking forward to a fantastic year with you all.

Our first topic this term is 'Happiness' and  we will be thinking about what makes us happy and how to keep our bodies and minds fit and healthy. We will be learning about how exercise and eating the right kinds of food will help to keep us healthy and happy.
During this topic we will also be visiting the local park for a 'Happiness Afternoon' of fun and games and so if any of your parents or grandparents would like to come along to help out their support is always much appreciated.

Our first R.E. topic is 'Beginnings' and we will looking at new beginnings in our lives and studying the story of Creation. If you have any photos of your  first day at school to display in the classroom could you bring them in and we promise to return them safely at the end of the topic.

Maths homework will be given out on Fridays and will be linked to the work that you have been doing in class that week. This needs to be returned by the following Friday.

New Bug Club books will be issued every Monday and please can you read with your parents every day.

P.E. will be undertaken on Thursdays and you will need to bring your kit in a clearly labelled bag to be kept in school until half term when it will be given back to you to wash.

We look forward to a fun and exciting year and not forgetting lots of hard work!!!!!
